As A Catholic

I am a Roman Catholic. I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I younger I never spoke about religion, because no matter what religion you are everyone should be treated the same. I was always taught that it just doesn’t matter. I was born catholic and raised up catholic. My parents and grandparents and Italian and my whole family falls under Catholicism. I was baptized when I was about a year old. I had my first communion when I was around 11. I am always going to stay a catholic. It’s not hard to go to a Christian school, because I don’t mind listening to what others say. I enjoy listening to everyone’s input and what they think about god. At California Baptist University no one force’s you to practice the religion of Christianity. I think it is also good how CBU lets other religions be a part of there community. As I grew up I practice the religion, but not every day. At CBU I have the chance to learn and practice every day. I like how so many people have so many views on the bible. No two people have the exact same view. I really don’t feel that there is a really big difference between Catholicism and Christianity. I think that these two religions are there closest religions. I don’t think it is wrong in any way for people to think what they do. I don’t think anyone should be put down about there opinion. Or be judged based on religion. I think everyone should believe what ever they want to believe. Others can put there input, but no thought is wrong.

I feel here that sometimes when I say I am catholic some people think well why are you here? I came here because I felt it would be a great experience. I feel that people whom are Christian and go to a Christian school, which is a Christian community, would be great people. I think because they follow the bible and read the bible all the time. They will do there best to live by what god is telling them, and how god helps. “Thou shall not steel” yes there are going to be some people who will not follow the rules and what god says. Most people at CBU do. The people here are so down to earth and are great people. I think by CBU is a lot different than any other school. The people are a big reason because most other school, less then 20% are down to earth.

  1. Diana, I think its cool that you keep an open mind, especially when you're a catholic. I find a christian environment to be very fitting for me only because I feel at home. I hope you do too.Id like to think that our religion doesnt matter because we are all believers. I really like that you stay true to your faith as a catholic as well. Sometimes, its good to know that even though every religion is different, I find the Catholic religion very similar to the baptists.
